THE PRETTY PETTY POT

THE PRETTY PETTY POT” – KING JESUDUNMO (BIMIDIAH)

Sometimes

the pot leaves the kettle

And goes out of it’s way

To call even the snow dirty

Why are you spread out all over the ground?”

“So filthy! Only pigs do that.”

Why you are seen as white if you are always trod upon? ”

How good are you if you cannot be eaten?”

You cannot withstand the fire that warms me up!”

“You will melt! ”

It forgets that the same fire that heats it

Is the same fire the snow kills

And so, the kettle remains forever fairer than the pot

Because although it has seen the boiling snow

And knows the snow‘s fleeting secret bubbles within it

It focuses on it’s whistling

Saving itself from the time of heat

that blackens the petty pot.
